The Fall 2008 semester is over! Thank goodness. I have worked the most that I've ever had to, but I think that's the way it's supposed to work when you're so close to finishinjg up that BA degree. I managed 2 A's, 3 B's, and 1 C. Trust the me, I was happy to get that C. But the most important class I was taking - Intermediate Accounting I, I was able to get an A! I'm so relieved. That is the class that really determines if you're gonna make it out to major in Accounting; otherwise, you change your major. I've heard different "stories", different situations about people taking intermediate, not making it and having to change majors. If you don't pass Intermediate Accounting, that sets you back a whole semester. You can't continue in your upper level classes if you don't pass Intermediate. It didn't help that my uncle kept reminding me over the semester, as he was asking to see how I was doing in my classes, that those Finance majors were once Accounting majors who weren't able to make it throgh Intermediate Accounting.
Ah, but enough of that. Haha. School is done. Now I have a part-time job with my uncle. And lots of time to experiment in the kitchen! I want to try different cakes, different pies, different cookies . . . and experiment with the recipes I already do. I only need two things from Dad, and surprisingly they're not money! I need a bottle of Castillo's 80 proof Rum, and for him to level the oven so the cakes won't come out slanted thus allowing me to actually use the convection part of the oven.
Christmas is just another day this year. We're not doing anything, just dinner with the Weslaco Cedillo's. Maybe Tio Joe will come down. Oh and of course Christmas morning mass with the family. But no gift exchange. :( Oh well. Audrey and I didn't even put up the tree this year. My last Christmas at my house and it looks like any other regular time of the year in the house.
My dress has arrived in stores. And these next few weeks - month, will be not so much hard, but busy. Deposits need to be made, payments need to be done. CRAZY. But I'll get through it. I always do. Less than a year to go.
UPDATE ON THE BAKING EXPERIMENTS TO COME SOON!
Gas is $1.39-$1.49 on the west end of the valley.
