5 Question Friday!

Wow, its been awhile since I participated in one of these! Here we go!




[1] What were your school colors??

• Elementary #1: red and white
• Elementary #2: maroon and gold

• Middle school: maroon and gold

• High school: maroon and gold

• University #1: navy blue and orange
• University #2: orange and white
• University #3: green, orange, and white

Yes, you read that right. I went to 3 different universities. Lol. I was, and still kinda am, very indecisive.

[2] What is the best compliment you've ever received?

I think the ones that mean the most to me are about something I've created, and I'm talking about food! I love to bake and I love to cook. I'm still deciding which I prefer over the other. But as of right now I'm at a cross roads. Please don't make me choose! lol. Anyway, like I mentioned - hearing compliments about something I've spent time and effort on only reaffirms my feelings about a possible career change .. somewhere down the road. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But eventually. Hopefully. And God willing :)


3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

LOL! I rarely want to buy cheap anything! I put up a bit of a debate when my dad tried switching to the cheap stuff. TP I just can't negotiate with. And I especially love it when there's a coupon for Charmin!

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

I've never been thrown a surprise party ... [hint, hint family/friends reading this]. lol. I tried throwing one for the hubby back when we were in high school. Friends just started showing up at the house, you know just because. He had no idea! Unfortunately, I had just started working at Michael's and they happened to call me to go in later that afternoon. I had to leave the party early. But from what I can tell and from what I heard, Danny liked it and that's really all that matters.


5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?

I cannot live without my cell phone. I would've said my iPhone, but alas I no longer have it! Currently we are with Sprint and I have the HTC Hero. But it's very similar to the iPhone, it's a lot slower [and I mean a lot!] but it works.

5 Question Friday !

I think I'm a little late in the day for posting this, but it's been one of those days and I am now just getting the chance to blog! lol.

1. What was the first car you owned?

Uh. LOL. I don't even think I fully own this car that I currently drive! It was the family car, but well now I guess it's mine. It's a 2002 Chevy Malibu. We've had  some good rides in this car, and while it has had it's problems, its been pretty good for the most part!

*** This [^^^] is not my car. lol. I had to google for a picture - thought I had one, but I didn't. Looks identical to mine though, so it's all good.
2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?

3. Have you ever had stitches?
I have been lucky enough not to have had any stiches. Ever! ...... now that I think about it, I did have stitches. Minor, but they count. Dang it!

I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist.

Can you see the scar? Right above that crease, there's a faint scar. If I remember correctly it was my junior year in high school. The cyst was huge! I used to draw a pair of eyes and a simle and freak out my little sister. Man that thing used to hurt! It got so painful I went in to see a specialist. I had it surgically removed only to have it come back up again. Luckily not so painful, but still visible.

4. What was your first job?
My first job- [w-2 related] was at Michael's the arts and crafts store! Yeh that store smells great, but I was seasonal. During the holidays. The Christmas one. With all the holiday ribbon and pinecones. Yep. Fun. :-\

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Ooohh that's a tough one! I'm gonna have to say it was either Big Bird, because he was just awesome!

Or the Count! He had that cool accent/evil laugh!

One-ah ha ha. Two-ah ha ha ... etc!

I want to try my best to keep up with these! Sick or not! lol. *cough, cough*

1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?

Oohh this is a tough question. I'd pick someone like Hilary Swank, that's off the top of my head. But taking note of recent comments, I'd pick Zhi Zhang - the actress from Memoirs of a Geisha.


2. Did you ever go to summer camp?

I never went to a summer camp. Now I say that I would've love to have gone but when I think about it - I probably wouldn't have gone. I would've probably chickened out at the last minute. I don't like to go anywhere by myself. I like to go knowing at least one person.


3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?

Probably something really scary, like a bear, or a shark. Probably even a jellyfish would do it! lol. Those things hurt when they sting! I'm a big whimp. lol. A bee. Some really icky bug. See big whimp.


4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?

Well seeing as we're not quite married yet, but we've been together long enough (6 going on 7 years this June) he would probably say it's when I text him "What're you doing?" - several times throughout the day. I tend to ask at different intervals when I'm at work. Although it doesn't make me feel better when he says he's watching a movie or doing something else way more interesting than whatever I'm working on at the office.


5. What is currently your favorite song?

Lately I've really liked Kelly Clarkson's new song "All I Ever Wanted". I also still really like Lady Antebellum's song "Need You Now". Anything by Michael Jackson and I'm happy.

FIVE QUESTION FRIDAY!

1. Do you sing out loud in the car when you're driving?

Yes. Definitely when I'm alone. It helps keep me calm when I'm driving to work in the AM and I'm late ... but I try not to make it that obvious while I'm flying through traffic. I do sing a bit with my little sis, we've got great songs on the iPod! And I really tend to belt it out when I'm driving all by my lonesome. At night. That way nobody can see me! Unless I'm at a stoplight then you know I mellow down, until I pass the lights.


2. What would you never be caught doing?

Adjusting my pantelones in public. You know when it's just one of those days ... Yeah I try to make a quick run to the bathroom if need be.


3. Will you go #2 in a public restroom?

Yep, and I'm not ashamed. I never understood this with other people though. Boys more so. I have a handfull of people I know that refuse to go in a public restroom. I say, when you gotta go you gotta go! Although, if the potty's are really icky then I wait a bit until I find another [clean] restroom.

And what's with the people who clog the toilets with pee and toilet paper? I mean really? What's hard about holding the flush until it goes? ... sorry for going off track there for a bit.


4. Have you ever broken a bone?

Nope! I never played sports so my chances were pretty low to begin with. And even that time that I got my arms stuck in my grandma's old washing machine . . . [another blog, soon to come]

I hope I never break a bone. I'm a big weenie when it comes to pain. lol.


5. Do you prefer cooking or baking?
 
Oooohhh a tough question! I don't know. I started out baking, so I'll probably always go back to that.
 
I personally believe there is an art to pie making. Lol. Cakes. MMMmmmm. Cookies. MMMmmmm. Pies. MMMmmmm. I used to bake right before exams [when I probably should've been studying . . .] and it would just calm me and take my mind off things.
 
I recently [as in the past year or so] started to get into cooking. It was kinda forced upon, but hey it's allowed me to expand my "Go to" recipes. And I'm not so advanced that I don't follow a recipe. There are only so many things that I can do without a recipe. I'm a perfectionist. At least I try to be, so I like to be sure not to leave anything out.
 
So to answer the question . . . I'll have to say baking!
