Wedding Wednesday!

If you're interested you can check out a preview of our wedding pictures taken by our photographers, RGV Photography at: www.rgvphotography.com/jessicaanddanny

So I just got married. And I still haven't really blogged about it.

We actually had a decent turn out at the church! :)

So after getting all prettied up at Avalon Spa & Salon, we drove over to one of my good friends and bridesmaid's house to finish getting ready and get picked up by the limo.

The time went by so fast! We got there a bit after 2 and were getting picked up around 3:15! Crazy!

One of the last things I did was get dressed. Litterally. 10 minutes before walking out the door I was zipping up my dress. Well my sister zipped it up ;)

The limo arrived and so we went! We got to the church in about 7 minutes. We were there really early.

I was really early. To my wedding. I was early. Early. lol.

I wonder how many people had money riding on it that I'd be late . ... lol. Oh well!

Once we arrived we went into a room at the church - on the opposite side, nowhere where Danny would see me! Our bouquets were waiting on the table.

We took a couple of pictures, just us girls.

My bridesmaids. L-R [Annie, Joana, Audrey(MOH), and Victoria]

My older sister Tina. Me. My little sister Audrey.

There was a random paper crown on a filing cabinet in the room. Had to. lol.

I held it together pretty well. Some people commented on how unbelievably calm I was.

Weird? lol. I guess :)

And then it was time!

I was more nervous about tripping on my dress, or stumbling on my own feet. The nerves came as I walked down the aisle though!

But there he was. At the end of the aisle. Danny. Smiling. Nervous. And smiling. It was great!

It all happened so fast, now that I'm trying to recall every detail. It'll come back as I see more pictures.

After the wedding ceremony, we took an alternate route to the ballroom to a golf course we never knew existed in Weslaco! Seriously! Country club and all. Who knew?! lol. We took some pictures, just the Mr. and I. It was fun! :) I can't wait to see more pictures!

Then we arrived to the ballroom! There was a lot of people there waiting for us! We got in and got to say hi to everyone before we even sat down. I'm sure everyone appreciated it  . . . at least I hope they did, lol. The rest of the night flew by! :) It was fun though. I remember not stressing. I didn't get upset.

And I loved our cake! Although, I still haven't had any ... Anyway, here are some more pictures as taken with my sisters camera.

Our nephew [and ringbearer] Jack, getting a head start on the dance floor.

Making our grand entrance!

Our yummy wedding cake with our awesome 2 cake toppers!

I can't wait to see what the rest of the professional pictures will look like! :)

Show Us Your Life - How I Met Mr. Hilton!

Here's something new I thought I'd try!

***WARNING!!! - MAJOR PICTURE OVERLOAD, I COULD NOT RESIST! :-)

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Well, once upon a time - very long ago . . .

JK!

No but seriously, we've been together on/off going on 7 years this June! 7 years!

We met briefly in middle school. In band. How dorky huh? lol.

He was a grade higher than I was.

He played the trumpet.

I played the flute.

He remembered me when I got to high school.

Then began the shameless teasing. :)

He used to call me "fish" "fishy" "freshman"

I think we just admired eachother from afar that first year.

I joined the mariachi group late that year.

Being in the mariachi group meant late/extra rehearsals.

We grew closer.

Even friendly.

Then we went to Dallas and were the exhibit mariachi for a small clinic they were having for directors in North Texas who were interested in starting their own groups.

Yeh we were pretty awesome.

It was on that trip that we became inseperable.

It might've involved freshly dry cleaned uniforms that needed all  "the galas" that pretty shiny stuff reattatched to the sides of the pants/skirts and one Mr. Hilton skillfully reattactching them sewing one leg shut.

I, being the self-proclaimed "gala master" may have had to re-do the entire leg the morning of our exhibition clinic.

Yeh, I'm pretty awesome like that. lol.

It all happened kinda fast, but I don't regret one second of it.

We are now almost 7 years together and 6 days happily married!

5 Question Friday !

I think I'm a little late in the day for posting this, but it's been one of those days and I am now just getting the chance to blog! lol.

1. What was the first car you owned?

Uh. LOL. I don't even think I fully own this car that I currently drive! It was the family car, but well now I guess it's mine. It's a 2002 Chevy Malibu. We've had  some good rides in this car, and while it has had it's problems, its been pretty good for the most part!

*** This [^^^] is not my car. lol. I had to google for a picture - thought I had one, but I didn't. Looks identical to mine though, so it's all good.
2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?
This cd:

Do I need to elaborate? Really??

3. Have you ever had stitches?
I have been lucky enough not to have had any stiches. Ever! ...... now that I think about it, I did have stitches. Minor, but they count. Dang it!

I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist.
Can you see the scar? Right above that crease, there's a faint scar. If I remember correctly it was my junior year in high school. The cyst was huge! I used to draw a pair of eyes and a simle and freak out my little sister. Man that thing used to hurt! It got so painful I went in to see a specialist. I had it surgically removed only to have it come back up again. Luckily not so painful, but still visible.

4. What was your first job?
My first job- [w-2 related] was at Michael's the arts and crafts store! Yeh that store smells great, but I was seasonal. During the holidays. The Christmas one. With all the holiday ribbon and pinecones. Yep. Fun. :-\

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
Ooohh that's a tough one! I'm gonna have to say it was either Big Bird, because he was just awesome!
Or the Count! He had that cool accent/evil laugh!

One-ah ha ha. Two-ah ha ha ... etc!

Wedding Day Errands!

So as I previously mentioned from the last post, I was tired! We had to wake up early the morning of because we still had a few errands to run.

1. Go to Wal-Mart.
Danny and I still needed a few things for that night, and he needed black socks! I know! Leave it till the day of the wedding to get black socks! lol. The car also needed gas to get us through our errands and commute.

2. Go pick up [sweetheart table] centerpiece for the ballroom from the florist!
Our table would've been pretty much bare, but a couple of weeks ago I asked the florist if she could come up with something and look at what she whipped up for us!

I loved it!

Poor Audrey had to hold onto it from McAllen all the way to Weslaco! [About a 20 minute drive!] She's awesome!

3. Get breakfast!
At this point we were still practicing our healthy eating habits, and Audrey suggested a fruit cup from this place I we frequent quite often. Only we get there and they're still closed because they don't open till 11! So we start driving home and see Sonic's flashing sigh for their CroisSONIC Breakfast Sandwich.

We were really hungry.

We gave in. And I must say, it was pretty delicious - I was quite disappointed that I wasn't able to eat the whole thing! I only managed to eat half. Remember healthy eating habits!? They suck!

4. Head to the salon to get all dolled up!
Our appointments were scheduled to start at 11:30. That's pretty much the time we got there. I went in a few minutes after, no later than 11:40. But I noticed Audrey didnt' go in until around 12! I started to get worried that we'd run late . . . but still at that point didn't panic. I was calm. Weird huh? lol.

Before we knew it we were ready to go! And well before 2pm [which is the time we asked my chaffeur dad to pick us up].

Then we were off to get dressed at Joana's house and get picked up there by the limo!

To be continued in another post!

The Rehearsal!

So Friday was the day of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

We had the weirdest weather throughout the week!
It had been raining on and off all week. And we were just crossing our fingers that we would get decent weather for that evening and Saturday!

So I worked half a day and then was going to get picked up at 12 by my sister Tina, her husband Casey, and my nephew Jack :) I was looking forward to it all week! And so there it came noon. Time to go! And they were still on their way! Lol. They got lost. Even with her iphone map they got lost.

There I was like a bum hanging out front of the office waiting to be picked up. An extra bag plus my purse in tow, along with the frame of Danny and I that was going to greet the guests as they would arrive.

It was pretty funny.

Luckily I have no photo to show as evidence. LOL.

So on we went to the site of the ballroom to help my mom, big-little sis, and aunt finish setting up the tables and linens. They were pretty much done and it didn't take long at all once we got there.

It poured as we were helping finish the set up.

Then it was off to lunch for some Mexican food! Now anywhere really would have sufficed, but what's more mexican than a taqueria?! I mean really!

Didn't get a picture though. Sorry!

Once we finished with lunch we came back to my dad's house to finish getting the house/dinner ready for the rehearsal dinner we were going to have after the rehearsal at the church.

Before we knew it it was time for the rehearsal!

During rehearsal, my [now] sister-in-law text me that it was pouring at her house and wanted to double check that the dinner was still on. I can't even count how many people were so looking forward to my dad's brisket! Fortunately, it was nice blue skies and sun outside when we were all done with the rehearsal. Only that didn't mean squat! That didn't mean it's the same across the whole valley! So we just had to cross our fingers and hope that whatever rain was going on was about done and wrapping it up.

We arrived to my house nice and dry, only the lawn very well indicated it had poured maybe no less than an hour before we all got there.

We were lucky not to have gotten rained out on the rest of the night.

The food was delicious, we got compliments as people left.

The only regret I have is wishing that I'd gone to bed earlier. I was so tired the next morning - I'll elaborate more on the next post: WEDDING DAY!
